This sub-series (formerly sub-series E XI) contains prints by photographers such as W.J. Bell of Michigan; F.W. Green of Arnprior; James Vey of St. John's, Newfoundland; J.F. Cooke of Port Arthur; Gauvin & Gentzel of Halifax; J.W. Bald of Midland, Ontario; W.B. Edwards of Quebec; James & Son of Toronto; and anonymous photographers, and includes views of: various types of Canadian and American vessels (majority are Canadian), including tugs, steamers, barges, ferries, sail boats, and battleships; wrecks, harbour, and launching views and ships in dry docks; the vessel Assiniboia in Davie Shipbuilding Yard, Levis; the vessel Manitoba in Polson Iron Works, Owen Sound; Great Western Railway Ferry, ca. late 1850's - early 1860's; views along the Erie Canal, Trent Canal, Welland Canal (including construction views with machinery 1903-1914 and ca. 1925-32.), Lachine Canal, Beauharnois Canal, Soulanges Canal, Chambly Canal, Soo Canal, plus various unidentified canal views; and a group of ca. 40 8"x10" prints, all showing harbour views with ships, other vessels, or railways, including Grand Trunk Pacific.

The ships are organized alphabetically by first letter of vessel's name (not organized after the first letter); sometimes with further caption or information on reverse of print. The canal views are organized by canal name.
