This fonds consists of the documents related to employees working for Lake Shore Gold Mines Limited from 1925 to 1968.

These documents include: employment/staffing records (medical information, work history, wages paid, absences, terminination/leave, work accidents, etc.); a register of lost shifts (all accidents causing absences from work); permanent partial disability (related to work accidents and absences); and worker accident reports (a partial list that includes employees with surnames starting with A-B).

Lake Shore Gold Mine : Located in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, the Lake Shore mine was purchased and named by Sir Harry Oakes in 1911. From 1918 to 1965, the mine was one of the biggest producers of gold in Canada, producing almost 8.5 million ounces of gold during this period. Lake Shore Gold Mines Limited was formed by Oakes shortly after the mine was purchased.
