Standing Committees are appointed for each Parliament under Standing orders of the House of Commons and consider legislation, estimates and other matters; Special Committees are appointed by the House on an ad hoc basis to investigate or deal with a specific matter; and Joint Committees are composed of members of both the House of Commons and Senate and usually deal with administrative matters.
These records of Standing Committees, Special Committees and Joint Committees consist of minutes of proceedings, orders of reference, correspondence, exhibits, reports and related material.
