Showing Montevideo, roads and position of regiments in the context of the British invasion of the Rio de la Plata in 1806-1807. The dates January 16th and 19th appear on the map and the title refers to the movements of the British army under the command of Sir Samuel Auchmuty.

The watercolour is a view of the city of Montevideo with its defence, whith two British officers and a British flag. It is signed "A. Prevost" who could be the brother of Sir George Prevost, Augustin Prevost.
