Series consists of tapes and discs CBC Radio Archives received in response to a request it made to the public to send in their original recordings of CBC programs to mark the CBC's 50th anniversary in 1986, to fill in gaps in CBC's radio archives. Included are programs in the series Solway String Quartet, Distinguished Artists, Focus, CBC Wednesday Night, Say It With Music, school broadcasts, some news and current affairs, the wartime program They Bomb By Night, and some dramas. Most of the recordings are of music programs.
