Series consists of maps of Saskatchewan and the Trent, Tweed and Algonquin Park districts of Ontario; they focus on forest reserves, weather conditions and the pulp and paper industry. There is also a map of Washington state. Technical drawings document equipment used for measuring weather data at federal Department of the Interior irrigation offices. Diagrams consist of graphs focusing on weather conditions in eastern Ontario and on irrigation data for Saskatchewan obtained from electric meter measuring devices.

Biography/Administrative history:

Dallyn, Gordon Mealey, 1891-1973 : Gordon Dallyn, forester, editor, was educated in Hamilton and Toronto, graduating from the University of Toronto in 1916 with a degree in Forestry Science. From 1915 to 1916 he served in the Canadian Officer Training Corps, and as an infantry Officer in France for which he was awarded the Military Cross.

As a forestry student, Dallyn conducted summer surveys in British Columbia and Saskatchewan. In 1919 he joined the Ontario Forest Service, acting as District Forester at Tweed from 1922 to 1926. He was then employed for nearly a decade as assistant manager and associate editor by the Canadian Forestry Association. From 1936 to 1959 he was executive secretary and editor of publications for the Canadian Geographical Society, renamed the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, in 1957.
