The series contains 59 postal covers, including mourning covers and airgraphs, as well as 20 postal stationery items, including envelopes, postal cards and letter cards sent to members of the Christie's family. These philatelic records date from 1848 to 1943. The postal covers and stationery items bear various manuscript and stamped postmarks: single circles, broken circles, double circles, squared circles, duplexes, paid, unpaid and due markings. They include Canadian (Lower Canada, Upper Canada, Canada West, Ontario, Manitoba) postmarks such as Montreal Ottawa, Windsor, Hamilton, Kemptville, Peterborough, Castleford, Oakville, Ross, Ossowa, Poplar Point; American postmarks such as Ogdensburg, Buffalo, St. Louis, Detroit, Philadelphia, Keithsburg, Milburn, Steubenville; a British postmark from Chiswick; a British East Africa and Uganda Protectorates postmark from Kijabe; and railway postmarks. The air mail postmarks on airgraphs (Great Britain) are dated from 1943.
