Cabinet gave Approval-in-Principal in July 1973, to the granting of Drilling Authorities, formal approval being contingent upon the results of a Regional Environmental Assessment. The Beaufort Sea Project was the name given to the group of forty-six studies from which the Assessment was made.
The sub-series includes draft reports and studies on the effects of drilling on fishes, invertebrates and marine plants, documents surrounding the agreement between the Canadian Government and members of the oil industry regarding exploratory drilling in the Beaufort Sea, and an Overview Report with correspondence of Beaufort Sea production.Additional information:Source of title:Title is based on the contents of the sub-series.Accruals:Further accruals are expected.Source:GovernmentFormer archival reference no.:RG23-G-2 -
