Volumes 4199-4208 contain regulatory, programming and planning files; service reports and general correspondence on such subjects as the expansion, maintenance and improvement of airport facilities; air traffic control; flight plans; flying regulations and log books; war measures; search and rescue operations; aircraft dealers for leasing and maintenance service; airline infractions, warnings and suspensions; and trophies and awards. Volumes 4197-4199 contain registry files covering subjects such as project administration for the Arctic-MacKenzie Valley Plan; planning and programming for the Fort McMurray air traffic control tower and Edmonton International Airport; and airport establishment and operation.Additional name(s):Biography/Administrative history:Canada. Transport Canada. Aviation. Western Region : The Western Regional Office of the Canadian Air Transportation Administration (CATA) was located in Edmonton, Alberta. CATA directed the management of all operational, developmental, and regulatory activities of Transport Canada in support of aeronautics, and was responsible for maintaining and promoting all aspects of air safety. CATA was a decentralized operation; in addition to the Office of the Air Administrator at Ottawa, there were Regional Administrators in Moncton, New Brunswick; Dorval, Quebec; Willowdale, Ontario; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Edmonton, Alberta; and Vancouver, British Columbia.
