Collection consists of stamps, covers, postcards, cheques, forms, tags, documents, wrappers, and telegrams to which perfins are affixed. These make up an organized study of the known perfin insignia used in Canada, as well as a study of the perfin insignia of the American businesses, with Canadian links that are known to have used Canadian stamps in this manner. The collection is divided into eight sections: Section 1 (A1-C58) includes Newfoundland perfins, Postage Due and Admiral issue perfins. Section 2 (C59-L7) comprises of Intercolonial Railway and Precancel perfins. Section 3 (M1-P9) has Militia Department and National Defence perfins, while Section 4 (P10-S20) has Sun Life Assurance Company perfins. Section 5 (T1-#1) has Gutta Percha and Rubber Ltd. and W.J.Gage Co. perfins, and Section 6 (C40-C46) consists of Canadian National perfins and their forerunners. Section 7 (C49-C53) contains the Canadian Pacific Railway perfins of the late 1960's, while the last section, Section 8 (O7-O9) includes OHMS and Canada Unemployment Insurance stamp perfins.

Johnson, J. C. (Jonathan Charles), 1951- : Jonathan C. Johnson, accountant, philatelist, resides in British Columbia with his wife, Leanna. He is an accountant in the resource industry. He started collecting stamps at about the age of eight. When he started college he began to specialize in Canadian and Australian perfins, and spent most of his free time locating perforating machines. His primary research included die plating of perforating machines while trying to confirm the number of machines by the various companies and government departments. Jon was a partner in Canadian Perforated Insignia Ltd. as a marketing arm for duplicate perfins. In 1980 he reactivated the British North America Philatelic Society (BNAPS) Perfins Study Group. He was Chairman of this study group for six years, coordinating the research on Canadian perfins which culminated with a published handbook co-authored with Garry D. Tomasson, entitled Canadian stamps with perforated initials. After this six year term, Mr.Johnson was appointed coordinator over all BNAPS study groups, holding this office for six years. Jonathan Johnson is a life member of the Perfin Club and the British North America Philatelic Society as wll as being a member of the Perfin Society. He is an Honorary Life Member of the Calgary Philatelic Society for which he was a past president and participated and chaired many philatelic show committees. Accession level database records.
