Scope and content:

Sub-series consists of records retained by the Department of External Affairs for use in the conduct of Canada's foreign affairs. These are briefing papers prepared for the United Kingdom War Cabinet pertaining to the war situation, and were also provided to the Prime Ministers of the Dominions. The papers, numbered from 1 to 312, were distributed on a weekly basis and pertain to all aspects of the conduct and status of the war effort. They were produced between September 7, 1939 to August 23, 1945.
