Board of Directors : The affairs of Air Canada were governed by a Board of Directors consisting of five individuals elected by the Shareholders (CNR), none of whom were officers of that Company with the exception of its Chairman and President, and four Directors appointed by the Governor in Council, none of whom were associated with the Government. The Board of Directors reported to Parliament through the Minister of Transport. While there was no designated Chairman of the Board, the President functioned as Chairman and maintained contact between the Board and the Minister. Condensed History of the Company.
