Series consists of records created and/or maintained by the Legal Services Division of Transport Canada. The series includes a variety of microfilm copies of legal documents and subsidy agreements and contracts.

Series also includes survey plans for airport, landing field, bombing range and radio stations across Canada, and a map of the Gitksan-Wet'suwet'en Indian land claim, British Columbia.

Canada. Transport Canada. Legal Services : The Legal Services Division of Transport Canada is responsible for all matters of a legal nature relating to the activities and responsibilities of the Department. The Division offers advice to departmental officials on the preparation of legislation, rules and regulations and represents the Department in all litigation. Legal Services' major activity is the drafting of legal documents, such as contracts, deeds, leases and agreements pertaining to Transport Canada's work.

General note:

RG12M 83403/29: Property Records of the Legal Division of Transport Canada would have copies of these plans on the legal documents. The survey plan number serves as the link between the two sources. Its acquisition documentation file also contains a donor list.
RG12M 87803/14: Base map: British Columbia relief map / Ministry of Environment. Victoria : 1978-79. Sheet #1JR.

Base map also contains three inset maps giving mean annual precipitation, and the mean daily temperature for Jan. and July (in celsius).
