Series consists of correspondence and accounts of William Dunlop, a Philadelphia printer to whom William Brown had been apprenticed, 1763-1768 (volume 47); letterbook kept by the executors of the estate of William Brown, 1789-1790 (volume 47); ledgers, journals, cash books, shipping books and other business records of William Brown and Thomas Gilmore (volumes 48-156).

The series also consists of photocopies of 5 postal covers covering the period from 1766 to 1771. Covers are from John & William Dunlop of Philadelphia.
