10 cm of textual records : transcripts.Language of material:EnglishScope and content:The class FO 27 consists of the general correspondence of Great Britain with its representatives in France and French representatives in Great Britain. The National Archives of Canada has microfilmed a selection of this material, chiefly volumes designated "Newfoundland Fisheries" comprising a series of case volumes of the correspondence between British and French officials relating to the Newfoundland Fisheries. They contain the collected memoranda, correspondence, and notes of French, British and Colonial officials, extracts of the articles of treaties, drafts of replies from the Foreign Office, and other papers relating to Newfoundland fisheries. This material is located on microfilm reels B-1699, B-1911 to B-1939, B-2033 to B-2050, B-2279 to B-2281, B-2394 to B-2396.
The transcribed volume, FO 27/2, consists of selections from papers relating to the negotiations which preceded the signing of the Treaty of Versailles.
