Fonds consists of a small manuscript volume (10 x 16 cm), entitled "A Collection of Loyal Songs, etc. etc. etc. Together with Anecdote and etc.", prepared by Benjamin Warren. The 127 items consist principally of "Orange" songs, but include others, including a few possibly of Warren's composition, concerning his emigration to Canada, the Battle of the Windmill, "George Brown's Lament" and the Fenians. The book provides a variety of song types: the broadside ballad, the traditional ballad, and the popular song.

Warren, Benjamin, ca. 1792-1867 : Benjamin Warren has tentatively been identified as a resident of lot 23, concession 5 of Escott township in Leeds County, Ontario. He was born in Ireland in 1792 and was buried at Caintown Cemetery in 1867. On page 75 he identifies himself as "superannuated school teacher" and resident of Augusta Township in 1855.
