Microfilmed material is located on microfilm reels B-119 to B-120, B-1066 to B-1069 and B-2581 to B-2587.Provenance:Additional name(s):Biography/Administrative history:Herbert, Henry Howard Molyneux, fl. 1858-1886 : Lord Carnarvon was born in London and educated at Oxford. He entered the House of Lords as under-secretary of state for the colonies, 1858-1859, colonial secretary, 1866-1867 and 1874-1875 and introduced the British North America Act in the House of Lords in 1867. He was chairman of a Colonial Defence Committee, 1879-1882 and an active supporter of the Imperial Federation League after its formation in 1884. From 1885 to 1886 he was lord lieutenant of Ireland.
