Fonds consists of a letter from Sir Joseph Pope commenting on Stewart's appointment as Assistant Provincial Secretary-Treasurer and Clerk of the Executive Council of Prince Edward Island, and a letter from Rex Woods to Ian Murray of the Confederation Life Association concerning Woods' painting of Hon. W. H. Pope meeting the Canadian delegates to the Charlottetown conference.

Stewart, Hugh Ronald, b. 1896 : Hugh Ronald Stewart, public servant, born in 1896 at Charlottetown, P.E.I., served in the Prince Edward Island public service for many years. His positions included deputy provincial secretary-treasurer, clerk of the executive council, and superintendent of insurance for the province of P.E.I., 1925-1935. In 1935, he became the Deputy Assistant Secretary to the Governor General of Canada.
