Fonds consists of microfilmed registers of baptisms, 1862-1971; marriages, 1863-1971; and burials, 1863-1971, of the Anglican Parish of Kirkton with Granton and Saintsbury. Short notes on the history of the parish, by Rev. H.R. Rokeby-Thomas, 1972, are included. Photocopies, 275 pages. Microfilmed material is located on microfilm reel M-2227.

Parish of Kirkton with Granton and Saintsbury (Kirkton, Ont. : Anglican) : The Anglican Parish of Kirkton was formed in 1862 and served the settlers of Usborne Township, Huron Co.; Blanshard Township, Perth Co.; and Biddulph Township, Middlesex Co. It included the congregations of St. Paul's Kirkton, and Trinity Church, Prospect Hill, until 1939, when the latter church was closed. In 1878, St. Patrick's, Saintsbury (which had previously been associated with St. James', Clandeboye) was added to the parish. St. Thomas', Granton, was built in 1883 and Granton, Prospect Hill and Clandeboye were joined to form a parish, but in 1903 Granton and Prospect Hill were separated from Clandeboye. The parish of Kirkton with Granton and Saintsbury became a self supporting parish in 1940.

General note:

Received in 1972 from Rev. H.R. Rokeby-Thomas rector of the Anglican Parish of Kirkton with Granton. Two additional pages, missing from the original donation and therefore also missing from microfilm reel M-2227, were received in 1982 from Mr. Charles Addington, Archivist of the Archives of the Diocese of Huron at the V.P. Cronyn Memorial Archives at Huron College, London, Ont. where the originals are currently held.
