Item is an account of the pioneer English settlement at Cannington Manor in the Northwest Territories written by Jessie H. Beckton, a daughter of Captain Edward Michell Pierce who founded the settlement in 1882. The Pierce homestead is now on the site of Moose Mountain Provincial Park in Saskatchewan. The account deals with early settlement life at Cannington Manor and with life in later years at Didsbury Ranch. Captain Page edited the account and wrote a foreward.
