Fonds consists of suggestions made concerning a Canadian national flag and its adaptation for use by the navy, air force, and merchant marine, including a historical account of flags in relation to Canada. This material is located on microfilm reel M-293.

Savage, Hugh George Egioke, 1883-ca. 1965 : Hugh Savage, journalist and politican, was born in 1883 at Stratford-on-Avon, England, and served in South Africa (the Boer War), 1901-1902. He settled in Canada in 1909, and engaged in newspaper work with the Vancouver Daily Province, 1910-1911. After working on Vancouver and New Westminister newspapers, he became editor, in 1914, of the Cowichan Leader, a weekly newspaper in Duncan, B.C. He was an MLA in the British Columbia Legislature, from 1933 to 1937, for the riding of Cowichan-Newcastle. He later served as the Governing Director of the Cowichan Leader Limited.
