Sound recording of: the live portion of three editions of the CHFI radio series Hi Fi Dance Party, featuring Moxie Whitney and his orchestra broadcasting from the Imperial Room of the Royal York Hotel, Toronto; a compilation of recordings by the Glenn Miller Orchestra.~The 27 April 1968 edition of Hi Fi Dance Party is a salute to the big band era. Included are performances of: One O'Clock Jump; Little Girl; Harlem Nocturne; On the Sunny Side of the Street; Begin the Beguine; Misty; For Swingin' Dancers; Glenn Miller medley (Serenade in Blue; At Last; Moonlight Serenade); Chattanooga Choo Choo.~The 22 January 1966 edition of Hi Fi Dance Party includes performances of: I Want Hold Your Hand; Come Closer to Me; March of the Toys; Sugar Blues; Matilda Matilda; medley (Stella by Starlight; The Nearness of You); Sugar Lips; Hawaiian Wedding Song; For Swingin' Dancers; Let Me Fill Your Night with Music (composed by Whitney), played as a closing theme. ~The 18 March 1967 edition of Hi Fi Dance Party is incomplete. Detailed typescript track lists are attached to the inside of the audio reel box. Concerning the Whitney orchestra broadcast of 18 March 1967, the listing indicates that the following selections were omitted from this recording (presumably because they did not fit on the tape): Charmaine; A Sign of Our Times; The Spanish Flea. Concerning the Miller remotes, the listing includes the place and date of recording, and provides a detailed commentary.~3. The three editions of Hi Fi Dance Party are on one mono track, heads out. The Miller remotes are on the other mono track, tails out.~4. A picture of Glenn Miller, likely clipped from a publication, is attached to the audio reel box.
