Preceeding the documentary, Bill McNeil interviews the Dutch radio producer Robert Ushey (?) about: the German invasion of Holland during World War II; the Dutch resistance movement; food rations; the Allied invasion in September 1944; and the strategic importance of the islands of Walcheren and South Beveland. The documentary, entitled THE BLOODY CAUSEWAY, contains interviews with Canadian WWII veterans about their recollections of the Walcheren Causeway capture, the harsh conditions and the generosity of the Dutch people.
