Fonds also consists of a video recording (audio only) of a panel discussion about the Laurentian Project and sound recordings of speeches by Marshall McLuhan and William G. Davis about technology in the classroom, 1973.
In addition, fonds includes slides related to the work of the Laurentian Project which show various perceptions of the environmental, regionalism, industrialization, and technological change in Canada; and photographs of members of the Project, 1971-1977.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Laurentian Project : The Laurentian Project (1970-1974) was initiated by a task force set up as a result of the Canadian Studies Conference of 1969. Two major areas of concern to Canadian society or "project themes" were selected for immediate development: regionalism in Canada, a study of social environments, and, industrialization and technological change in Canada.
The Laurentian Project was initiated in Peterborough and Quebec City. Development techniques, classroom materials and teaching methods were studied in Peterborough and Quebec City to provide an understanding of the similarities and differences in outlook between them on two major areas of concern to Canadian society.Additional information:General note:Material received in 1977 from Ron Wood, Indian River, Ontario.
