It affiliated with the Canadian Branch of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club the following year. In 1905 the Heather Curling Club moved from its original building to a new and larger facility. In 1964 the club left Westmount, moving to another new building in Hampstead. It folded ten years later. The Heather was one of the most senior clubs in the Canadian Branch, and for most of its lifespan was also one of the largest clubs in the branch.
Several transformations took place during the club's history. In 1928, the Heather was one of the first curling clubs in the Montreal area to abandon natural in favour of artificial ice. While curling was at first reserved for men, ladies and mixed curling were accepted at the Heather by the early twentieth century. The membership was at first predominantly Scots Canadian, but became ethnically more diverse.Additional information:General note:Received in 1985 from Victor Isganaitis of Westmount, Quebec.
