Office and Professional Employees International Union. Local 343 : Office Employees International Union of Toronto, local 343 was established in September 1956 as a result of the merger between the Office and Professional Workers Organizing Committee (CIO-CCL) and the Office Employees International Union (AFL-TLC). Its members are trade union office workers in southern and south-western Ontario. Its original members came from Local 3 of the Office and Professional Workers' Organizing Committee and trade union office employees in Local 131 of the Office Employees International Union. In September 1965, the name of the union was revised to Office and Professional Employees International Union.
