This consists of ten interview and actuality cuts recorded for the CBC radio series Our Canada, telling the story of the ordinary people, events and developments in the railways, wheatlands, waterways, mines, airways, industries, communications, arts, governments, philanthropies and religions that have shaped Canada. A woman describes her work as a parts supervisor in the aero engine repair shop of Aircraft Repairs Limited in Edmonton. She prefers aviation work to the library work she did previously. She remarks that there are few jobs in the plant that a woman could not do. There are 3 cuts of machinery or factory noises. A woman describes her work as a paint sprayer in the Aircraft Repair plant. Before this she worked in lunchrooms in a chain store. She sprays aircraft parts with a special cellulose enamel. There are two cuts of this. There is a cut of unidentified factory or machinery noise. An unidentified man describes the geography of an area of southwestern Saskatchewan. In a separate cut he describes the work of the Dominion Experimental Station in Swift Current. The station helps find solutions to wheat production problems such as drought and insect pests. A farmer southwest of Winnipeg describes his wheat farm. (There are two cuts of this).
