Vaughan, Josephus, 1766-1846 : Josephus Vaughan, militia officer, was born in New Fairfield, Connecticut, 16 June 1766 and died 13 February 1846 in Noyon, Missisquoi, Quebec. Vaughan was a Loyalist who had moved to Noyon ca. 1804, and established the first ferry to cross the Richelieu River at Lacolle. He also ran a tavern. Geneological website: , March 2001. 206810
