Sanders, Robert, fl. 1742-1758 : Robert Sanders, son of Thomas and Sarah Van Gorcum, settled in Albany, N.Y. as early as 1665 as a merchant for the area. There he acted as general merchant and proprietor of a general store. His first wife was Elsie Barentse. John Sanders, Robert's brother, also worked as a merchant in Albany.
