Fonds consists of a letter from Stewart Derbishire to Major Dunn, 21 May 1858, presenting a sword found on the Plains of Abraham and thought at the time to be General Wolfe's weapon; also, Lieutenant-Colonel Dunn's farewell orders to the 100th Regiment at Malta, 5 January 1865.

Dunn, Alexander Roberts, 1833-1865 : Colonel Alexander Roberts Dunn became a Cornet in the 11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own), 12 March 1852, and received his commission as Lieutenant in the Regiment, 18 February 1853. He served in the Eastern campaign of 1854, including the battles of Alma, Balaklava, and Inkerman, and the siege of Sebastopol (Medal with four Clasps, Turkish Medal and Victoria Cross). He never held a captaincy, but was commissioned as a Major in the 100th (or Prince of Wales' Royal Canadian) Regiment of Foot, 29 June 1858. He became a Lieutenant-Colonel in the 100th, 25 June 1861; in the 33rd (The Duke of Wellington's) Regiment of Foot, 20 December 1864; and Colonel in the 33rd, 25 June 1866.
