Fonds consists of Bowyer's letterbooks, 1799-1805, entry books, 1800-1803 and diaries, 1801 and 1804. Also included are the letterbooks, 1802-1805 and entry book, 1804-1805 of Henry James Reynett, Military Secretary, 1802-1806 and the entry book, 1800-1802 of Captain Thomas Dodd, Military Secretary, 1800-1802. As well, there are miscellaneous account books, estimate books, general and garrison order books, 1800-1807, included in the collection (volumes 1-11).

Bowyer, Henry J., died 1808 : Lieutenant-General Henry J. Bowyer of the 16th Regiment of Foot was a member of the Duke of Kent's staff, 1799-1800 and commander-in-chief of His Majesty's Forces in Nova Scotia, 1800-1805.
