Fonds consists of a letter from John McGill to William Hands concerning a licence of occupation issued, dated 1809, 2 pages; a letter from William Warren Baldwin to William Hands concerning the fees and a settlement of the Surrogate Court, York, Upper Canada, dated 1822, 3 pages; a letter from Peter McDougall to William Hands sending orders (not enclosed with letter as indicated), which he asks to be forwarded to Mr. Macon for payment, and asks that if Mr. Macon has any buffalo robes for sale, he will purchase them at a fair price, dated 2 October 1826, 2 pages.

Hands, William, 1756-1836 : William Hands was a prominent citizen of Sandwich, Upper Canada. He was Postmaster, 1800-1834, and also held office for a time as Sheriff, District Treasurer, and Judge of the Surrogate Court for the Western District.
