Numerous shots of the Conservative leader speaking into microphones and meeting people. While he speaks on behalf of fishermen in Newfoundland, footage cuts to sequences of fishermen at work. At home, the Stanfields are shown relaxing. Various shots of western scenery, white face cattle, riders, a small place landing on the prairie. John Diefenbaker visits a school named after him. Stanfield's voice is heard on the sound track through most of these scenes, expounding Conservative doctrine and his personal views. In Quebec, the camera touches on the monuments on the Plains of Abraham, the Fortress and Quebec City. Stanfield talks about the concerns of French-Canadians and, later, says that he will try to bring about some degree of reconciliation. Sequences on logging operations in British Columbia, and a final shot of the Toronto skyline conclude the film. <27mn 30s>Language:EnglishDetailed holdings information: -
