Playter, Ely, fl. 1812-1826 : Ely Playter was a tavern keeper and farmer in York County, Upper Canada. He was also an officer in the 3rd Regiment of York Militia during the War of 1812, and represented York and Simcoe in the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada from 1824 to 1826. In 1826, he moved to Niagara County, New York.
