Proceedings of the Awards Night event at CAN PRO 1988 held in Regina, Saskatchewan. Johnnie Sanderson of CKTV Regina hosts the evening, with Diane Sauvé and Dale Isaac co-hosting the presentation ceremony in French and English. A video retrospective of Can Pro's fifteen-year history introduces the proceedings. This is followed by the piping-in of the Can Pro national chairman and other celebrities and the unveiling of a Can Pro "Scroll of Honour" and the nomination of its first members. Video clips accompany the reading of the list of broadcasters honoured. Names include the late Harold A. Crittenden, first Vice-President of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters; Bruce Cowie, Vice-President of the Television Bureau of Canada; and Paul Cumberland of CFCF Inc. and Télévision Quatre Saison. Bruce Cowie responds on behalf of the nominees. Entertainment is provided by the "Saskatchewan Express" group. Votes of thanks are expressed by Mel Friesen, host of Can Pro 1988 and by Wally Kirk, National Chairman of Can Pro. Bill Calendar of MCTV Sudbury and host of Can Pro 1989, welcomes participants to next year's festival and shows short video presentation.
