This material is located on microfilm reels M-67 and M-68. There is also a letter, 1839, from Sir George Arthur, 4 pages; letters, 1822-1847, from and to various correspondents, 21 pages and a commission, 1812 as ensign in 1st Leeds Militia, 1 page.Provenance:Additional name(s):Biography/Administrative history:Morris, William, 1786-1858 : William Morris, politician, was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada as a member for Lanark in 1820 and continued to represent Lanark until 1836. From 1836 to 1841, he served on the Legislative Council of Upper Canada and in 1841, he was appointed a Legislative Councillor for Canada. In 1844, he became Receiver-General in the Draper administration where he served until 1846 and from 1846 to 1848, he was President of the Executive Council. He was also the first chairman of Queen's University Board of Trustees, Kingston.Additional information:General note:Received in 1920, 1945, and 1950.
