It includes presentations of the following awards: best public affairs television show, to Don McGowan for the show McGowan & Company; best public affairs radio progrma to John Robertson of station CJAD; best television documentary writing to Brian McKenna for Montreal Election Special; radio documentary award to Bob Duncan for his program on poet William Henry Drummond; best actor award to Earl Pennington for his role in the CTV show Excuse My French; best broadcaster award to Bob [Gerolami] for the CBC television show City At Six; best film actor of the year to Stuart Gillard for Why Rock the Boat?; best film writing award to Morchecai Richler for The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz; best sportscaster of the year award to Dave Van Horne; award for outspoken opinion and integrity in the medium to Gordon Atkinson; best program of the year award to Paul Wayne, creator of Excuse My French; and the Eleonor Stuart Award for distinguished service to the theatre, to Norma Springford.
