Collection consists of microfilmed selections from the Liverpool Record Office concerning shipping. This material is located on microfilm reel A-1639. There is a log book of the brig 'Adventure' of a voyage from [Liverpool] to St. John's, Newfoundland, 9 September to 11 November 1812 and subsequent voyages to the West Indies and elsewhere. The log ends 7 Dec. 1813. Also included are fitting out accounts for: the ship 'Abby', 1782-1783, the ship 'Cavendish', 1783; the sloop 'Delight', 1782, the brig 'Devonshire', 1782 and the brig 'Lancaster', n.d. (387MD5). Includes 'Notes for Captain Woodruff' with detailed orders for Woodruff commanding the steamship 'Britannia, n.d., between Halifax and Boston. (387MD12). Includes a journal of the brig 'Garland', 1833, for a voyage from Liverpool to Miramichi, N.B., kept by John Murray (387MD35). Includes a letterbook of Captain James Brown of the ship 'Gossypium', 1843-1845, which describes market conditions at New Orleans, Quebec and Liverpool (387MD48). Finally, there are accounts of the ship 'Gossypium', 1845-1851, for voyages to New Orleans, Quebec and Callao, Peru (387MD49/1-20).
