McRobert, Laurie, b. 1936 : Laurie Demkow McRobert was born in Montreal in 1936. In 1977 she graduated with a B.A. degree from the Thomas More Institute for Adult Education in Montreal. She obtained her M.A. degree from the Religious Studies Department at McGill University in 1979, and her Ph.D., from the same university in 1986. She now teaches Philosophy of Religion at both McGill University and Thomas More Institute, where she is also a director.

Her Ph.D. dissertation was entitled Emil L. Fackenheim: From Philosophy to Prophetic Theology, and her current work is focused on the problems related to Post-Holocaust reflection, and the problem of radical evil. She has written several articles on the thought of Emil Fackenheim and is also a contributing author in a festschrift publication honouring him.
