The primary documents comprise a number of assorted account ledgers relating to the purchase of supplies in the mining community of Silver Islet, Ontario, in 1872. The secondary documents are three histories of Silver Islet, one by resident Janey Livingstone, and the constitution and bylaws of the Silver Islet Employees Benefit Society, all transcribed from original older documents; an article on the area from the Canadian Geographical Journal; a letter explaining the origins of her photographic album; and a newspaper clipping dated 1963.
Collection also consists of original and copy photographs relating to Silver Islet and vicinity (near Port Arthur, Ont.). The sources of the photographs are unknown. Included is a copy of the 1913 booklet, "Souvenir of Silver Islet", by Port Arthur photographer, J.F.
