Fonds consists of "The Bibliography of Canadian Statute Law" by William G. Eakins, including the manuscript of an article published in The Law Library Journal, volumes 1-2, 1908-1909. A twenty-nine page introduction gives the history of early statute printing in Canada, followed by a check-list of printed statutes of Upper Canada from 1792 to 1840 and of the Province of Canada from 1841 to 1866.

Eakins, William George, 1854-1913 : William George Eakins, born in 1854 at Vienna, Upper Canada, received his education from the University of Toronto, B.A., 1876, M.A., 1877. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1880 and practised law in Woodstock, Ont. until 1884. He joined the editorial staff of the Toronto Mail. He was appointed librarian of the Law Society of Upper Canada at Osgoode Hall, Toronto, in 1891, a position he held until 1913.

He was the author of various legal publications including "The Bibliography of Canadian Statute law" which appeared in the Index to Legal Periodicals and Law Library Journal, (Chicago: 1908) pp. 61-71.
