Fonds consists of correspondence of John T. Mutchmor, chiefly with his nephew Alexander Mutchmor, concerning family and business matters. One of the main topics is a family dispute over the will of John Mutchmor the father of John T. Mutchmor. One letter of 8 October 1863 describes speeches made in Quebec City by John Rose, John A. Macdonald, George-Etienne Cartier and others. There is also an article written by Dr. Charlotte Whitton on the life of Ella Mutchmor Thorborn, daughter of Alexander Mutchmor.
