Collection consists of notes and manuscripts relating to the Roman Catholic Church in Ontario accumulated by H.F. MacIntosh. Included are a manuscript entitled The Life and Times of the Rt. Reverend Alexander Macdonnel, first Bishop of Regiopolis; chapters in the Roman Catholic ecclesiastical annals of Ontario; and notes on the establishment and development of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Toronto, the separate schools question, and various other subjects.

MacIntosh, Hugh Fraser, b. 1862 : Hugh Fraser McIntosh was born in Hamilton and entered into a business career in Toronto, as a partner in the firm of Tolton and McIntosh, commission merchants. A frequent contributor to the secular and religious press, McIntosh was interested in the history of the church in Canada. He was a corresponding member of the American Catholic Historical Society of Philadelphia and edited the Catholic Weekly Review for several years. He was also on the executive committee of the Canadian Catholic Union. Morgan, Henry. Canadian Men and Women of the Time, 1912.
