Fonds consists of correspondence relating to the Lower Laurentian Railway, 1886-1890, 1891-1892, 1893-1901, 1913; reports, including a report on the condition of the Lower Laurentian Railway, and a draft agreement by C.A. Scott to construct the uncompleted portion of the line as well as miscellaneous relating to an attempt in 1893 to finance the completion of the line, 1887-1893; traffic receipts, 1891-1894; legal documents, 1889-1900; and accounts, 1891-1898.

Fonds also consists of a photograph of Eno and Mr. T.F. Oakes.

Eno, John C : John C. Eno, a former president of the Second National Bank of New York, is listed in the annual returns to the Department of Railways and Canals for the years 1892 to 1895 as Local Treasurer of the Lower Laurentian Railway Company. This company was founded in March 1878 as the St. Lawrence, Lower Laurentian and Saquenay Railway Company with the objective of building a line from Trois-Rivières to Lac St. Jean. American investors gained control of the company in 1888 and its name was changed to the Lower Laurentian Railway. In 1893 the Great Northern Railway of Canada was authorized to make use of the company's subsidies, and in 1897 it absorbed the Lower Laurentian completely.

The Great Northern in turn became part of the Canadian Northern, and was ultimately incorporated into the Canadian National Railways.
