Fonds consists of Constitution and Rules and Regulations, 1910, 2 pages (Volume 1); Minutes of Meetings, 1912-1954, 1.2 cm (Volume 1); Annual Reports and Programmes, 1912-1987, 1.1 cm (Volume 1-2); Membership List Books, 1950-1967, 1.7 cm (Volume 2); Periodical: "The Ottawa Horticulturalist" 1911, 6 pages (Volume 2); Report and Record of Ottawa Victory War Gardens, 1942-1944, 30 pages (Volume 2); Financial Statement, 1921, 2 pages (Volume 2). The fonds also contains three photographs depicting various flower shows in Ottawa.

Ottawa Horticultural Society : The Ottawa Horticultural Society, composed of amateur gardeners, has been one of the earliest advocates of environmental beautification. Over the years, the Society, which was established in 1893, has performed innumerable community services in attempts to improve gardening knowledge of residents in the area. Officers of the Society presented the first official Street Tree policy to City Hall and did much to promote the Centennial Garden at City Hall and the adoption of the Trillium as the Flower Emblem of Ontario. The Society holds lectures, discussions and flower shows, and encourages the improvement of home and public grounds.
