Description:

Television documentary on New Brunswick introduced by Warner Troyer and Knowlton Nash. Through illustrative film footage and comments from political leaders and residents in various walks of life, the political and social climate of the province is examined. Interviews with Premier Louis Robichaud and Progressive Conservative Party leader Charles Van Horne probe the business and industrial scene in New Brunswick, with special focus on the conglomerate companies of Kenneth C. Irving. Robichauds' "equalization" legislation is discussed with comments on the education system from Dr. Alexander Boudreau, of the University of Moncton. Poverty and bilingualism, major problem areas, are looked at with special focus on a controversy over duplicate hospitals being opened in Kent county to accommodate English and French-speaking inhabitants.
