This drama is the sequel to 1987's "The Prodigious Hickey". It takes place at a turn-of-the-century prep school where student shenanigans continue to be the main subject of interest. It's the spring of 1906 at New Jersey's Lawrenceville School (where the program was partially filmed), and the institution's most notorious prankster, William "Hickey" Hicks, returns after having been suspended for a term. Although Hickey tries to convince the headmaster that he's "a changed man", his mischievous ways soon resurface after he meets a rival prankster, a new student whom he dubs "The Tennessee Shad". The Shad is master of ingenious pranks, indeed, including a ruse aimed at Hickey's former adversary, housemaster Tapping. However, Hickey is determined to regain supremacy, and he sees a perfect opportunity when a new housemaster, the naive "Brotherly Love" Baldwin decides to organize a campus election. The story is based on "The Lawrenceville Stories" by Owen Johnson, which were first published in the Saturday Evening Post between 1905 and 1909. <60mn>.
