Film-making techniques and the psychological impact of film are examined. The influence of movies and its role in comparison with that of television is reviewed, as is the question of film censorship. Newsreel content, production and distribution are closely examined. The documentary film's definition and purposes are outlined by Mr. Taylor, focusing on its limitations and its capacity for ethnological and anthropological study. The work of John Grierson and Robert Flaherty, two famous documentary film makers, is also reviewed.
