Messages from assorted, unnamed Canadian servicemen and women. There is no intro. It begins with comments by a navy nurse who expresses pride in nursing sailors back to life. Next is a Canadian soldier who went overseas with one of the first contingents of Canadian troops, has been overseas for three years, and describes his training in England, mentions participating in the Dieppe Raid and thanks Canadians for their contribution on the home front. Another man describes the Canadians in Ceylon. Another man describes Canadians serving in Gibraltar, including tunnelers. A Canadian soldier from Quebec, on guard somewhere along the Alaska Highway, reads a text. Another Canadian serviceman talks about coastal patrol work and says he did does not know when he will be back in Canada. He says that it will be nice to see lights and buildings that are still standing, and looks forward to apple pie, but that the homecoming will have to wait until they "lick Hitler". Another man talks about the campaign in Africa and the role of Canadians in the RAF and RCAF. A Canadian pilot in Ferry Command talks about sighting convoys; Another serviceman, speaking French, talks about Bomber Command. A sailor talks about his job on a destroyer, a vital part of Canada's war effort. He says that it is no fun and he won't be sorry when the mess is over, but that the Canadians are determined to do their bit and are proud of the work done by the Canadian Navy. A man describes the heroics of a Hurricane pilot protecting convoy ships on the Murmansk Run. He states that home front production backs up Canadian fighting forces. The last speaker is a fighter pilot in Malta. <45mn>
