Oral history interview of former Eldorado Company employees (prospectors, pilots, metallurgists, managers) who describe the early years of uranium mining and exploration at Port Radium, NWT, and Beaverlodge, Sask. as well as uranium refining at Port Hope, Ontario from the early 1930s to the 1950s.
These are not broadcast-quality audio recordings. Jane Mingay was hired by Eldorado Nuclear Ltd. from late 1976 to the fall of 1978 to conduct an oral history project. Some information on Eldorado's history and personalities was obtained from Robert Bothwell, "Eldorado: Canada's National Uranium Company" (1984). Interview dates obtained from transcripts of interviews. 6 blank or inaudible cassettes were rejected from the collection.
